2023 Award
Sustainability of the Year — Priory Villa, Cheltenham
Priory Villa is a five-bedroom Cheltenham property built to a net-zero carbon footprint — one of the most ambitious sustainable residential builds undertaken in the region. Every system was designed to minimise energy consumption and environmental impact:
- Air-source heat pumps replacing conventional gas heating
- Mechanical heat recovery systems throughout
- Roof-integrated solar panels
- Water-restriction devices across all fittings
- Upgraded cavity wall insulation exceeding building regulations
The architecture delivers an ashlar stone and coping stone facade across four storeys, with a sweeping oak and glass staircase as the centrepiece. Sustainability and quality of finish were delivered in equal measure.
